the way things used to be and still are in some places

I am incredibly fortunate to have a friend who lives up in one of the mountain villages not all that far from Granada -- around a 2-hour busride, and all this and more is what I saw, smelled & heard (you don't see the birds but believe me they were out in full force) last weekend.
